Our Autism Assessment Process
-
1. Register
Begin your journey with the AAC by registering as a patient. Simply follow the 'Register' link below and fill in your details to get started.
-
2. Screening
After you register, we'll send you a screening questionnaire to start the assessment process.
-
3. Book
If you're accepted for assessment, easily book a convenient appointment using our online scheduling system.
-
4. Informant
With your consent, we may invite someone who knew you well during your childhood and teenage years to provide additional insights. If you do not have an informant the MDT (multidisciplinary team) will discuss how to proceed.
-
5. Appointment
Your in-person appointment, lasting approximately 2 hours, will include a personal interview, observations, and tailored assessments.
-
6. Interview
We'll conduct an online interview with your chosen informant for additional insights into your background.
-
7. Discussion
The team will hold a confidential MDT meeting to review the outcome of the assessment and a potential diagnoses.
-
8. Report
You will receive a comprehensive assessment report, regardless of whether a diagnosis is made or not. The report is yours to keep and share with others as you choose. If you want the AAC to share it with others (GP, employer etc), there is an administrative fee of £125.
-
9. Feedback
You have the option to attend another appointment to discuss the outcome of the assessment. This can be face to face or online. You can bring a person for support and to help you remember the discussion
